On 18 Jun., the Hohhot Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau accepted and published the environmental impact assessment documents for Inner Mongolia Biok Biology Co., Ltd. (Inner Mongolia Biok)’s 2,000 t/a of specialty amino acids renovation project.

- Total investment: USD7.33 million (RMB49.97 million), of which USD0.16 million (RMB1.13 million) is for environmental protection
- Construction content:
- Major modification and adjustment to the construction plan of the 6,000 t/a of L-phenylalanine technical renovation project.
- New fermentation capacity added for 2,000 t/a of specialty amino acids production; no longer occupying the 120 t/a of abamectin technical fermentation capacity.
- Product plan adjusted from the original single product L-phenylalanine (6,000 t/a) to flexible production of three specialty amino acids: phenylalanine, tryptophan, and isoleucine, with a maximum capacity (single product) of 2,000 t/a; abamectin technical capacity remains unchanged at 120 t/a.
- Product plan: Flexible production of 2,000 t/a of phenylalanine, 2,000 t/a of tryptophan, and 2,000 t/a of isoleucine, with maximum capacity for a single product.
- Main raw material: Purchased glucose
- Labor quota: no new employees
- Working system: three 8hr shifts per day, 333 working days totaling 7,992 working hours per year
