Heilongjiang Nuopu Completed Amino Acid Project

On 30 Jan., the completion environmental-protection acceptance monitoring report for Heilongjiang Nuopu Biological Technology Co., Ltd. (Heilongjiang Nuopu) high-quality amino acid industrialization and capacity expansion project was published on an environmental platform.

Project overview

  • Nature: Expansion & retrofit
  • Location: Chemical Park, Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province
  • Total investment: USD21.5 million (RMB150 million)
  • Construction content:
    • Build one high-quality amino acid line producing leucine (95%), isoleucine (95%) and citrulline (95%); one line for processing by-products such as wet bacterial protein.
    • Carry out capacity expansion and efficiency upgrades on the existing production lines by purchasing saccharification, fermentation, extraction and utility equipment; at the same time, reassign the two existing lines in the separation/extraction shop to produce leucine (90%), isoleucine (90%) and L-tryptophan (90%).
  • Product plan: 2,940 t/a of Leucine (90%), 8,820 t/a of Isoleucine (90%), 300 t/a of L-tryptophan (90%), 2,700 t/a of leucine (95%), 1,500 t/a of isoleucine (95%), 800 t/a of citrulline (95%), 16,100 t/a of by-product bacterial protein
  • Key raw materials: 100,371 t/a of starch slurry, 865 t/a of arginine, etc.
  • Process routes:
    • Use starch slurry to make leucine (90%) and isoleucine (90%); further refine to leucine (95%) and isoleucine (95%);
    • Purchase arginine and other inputs to produce citrulline (95%).
  • Labor quota: no additional employees
  • Working system: three 8hr shifts per day, 330 working days totaling 7,920 hours per year
  • Progress:
    • Approval of EI report: Apr. 2025
    • Started construction: May 2025
    • Completion: Oct. 2025
    • On-site acceptance monitoring: 27–28 Nov., 2025
