Hunan Chuangyuan’s Starch Sugar and Derivative Products Project

On 27 Jul., the local Ecological Environment Bureau accepted and published the environmental impact report for Hunan Chuangyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Hunan Chuangyuan)’s starch sugar and derivative series products production project.

 

Project overview

  • Nature: Expansion construction
  • Location: Jinshi High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Changde City, Hunan Province
  • Total investment: USD14.68 million (RMB100 million), of which USD126,431.72 (RMB861,000) is for environmental protection
  • Construction content:
    • Construction of one new starch sugar and derivative series products production line and its supporting facilities;
    • Construction of one new high-fructose corn syrup production line;
    • Construction of one new glucose powder production line;
    • Technical renovation of the existing glucose syrup production line, adding decolorization and ion exchange processes to achieve full shared-line production with the maltose syrup production line, with total capacity remaining unchanged.
  • Product plan: 20,000 t/a of maltose syrup (about 25% moisture content), 30,000 t/a of glucose syrup (about 40% moisture content), 60,000 t/a of corn starch; by-products: 10,000 t/a of corn bran, 10,000 t/a of corn germ, 10,000 t/a of corn gluten meal; 6,000 t/a of high-fructose corn syrup (about 40% moisture content); 20,000 t/a of glucose powder (about 10% moisture content)
  • Main raw material: 133,800 t/a of corn
  • Labor quota: 18 new employees
  • Working system: Two 12hr shifts per day, 300 working days totaling 7,200 working hours per year
  • Construction period: 12 months

Hunan Chuangyuan currently produces 20,000 t/a of glucose syrup, 30,000 t/a of maltose syrup, and 6,000 t/a of feed-grade rice protein powder (by-product).
