According to the environmental acceptance report publicized on 20 Jun., Phase II of 1 million t/a of starch sugars project by Guangzhou Shuangqiao Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou Shuangqiao) has been completed.

 

Project overview

  • Nature: New construction.
  • Location: No. 1, Taiyangsheng Road, Hengli Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
  • Investment: USD0.2 billion (RMB1.48 billion), of which USD17.5 million (RMB125.5 million) is for environmental protection.
  • Product plan: 100,000 t/a of beer syrup, 200,000 t/a of glucose syrup, 600,000 t/a of HFCS
  • Key raw material: 1,003,500 t/a of 86% food-grade starch.
  • Progress:
    • Started construction: Apr. 2020
    • Completion: 25 Jul., 2024.
    • Commissioning: 26 Jul., 2024 -25 Jul., 2025.
    • On-site acceptance monitoring: 13-14 May, 2025.

 

At present, the 1 million t/a of starch sugars project of Guangzhou Shuangqiao has been completed and put into production with a capacity of 200,000 t/a of beer syrup, 400,000 t/a of glucose syrup and 900,000 t/a of HFCS.

 

On 4 Jun., the environmental impact report for the technical transformation project of the starch sugar products production line by Shuangqiao (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (Shuangqiao Guangzhou), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Shuangqiao, was publicized on an environmental protection platform.

 

Project overview

  • Nature: Reconstruction, expansion & technical upgrading
  • Address: No. 1, Taiyangsheng Road, Hengli Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
  • Total investment: USD18 million (RMB 130 million), of which USD1.4 million (RMB10 million) is for environmental protection
  • Product plan: 300,000 t/a of starch sugar 16,500 t/a of corn sugar dregs
  • Key raw materials:
    • To utilize various enzymes to convert 335,000 t/a of corn starch into different forms of starch sugars.
    • To use the by-product of starch sugar production, known as protein residue, to produce corn sugar residue.
  • Labor quota: 40 new employees.
  • Working system: Three 8hr shifts per day, 350 working days per year.
  • Construction period: 2.5 years

According to the monitoring report publicized on an environmental platform on 7 Apr., Heilongjiang Longfeng Corn Development Co., Ltd. (Dragon Phoenix) has completed starch sugar deep processing project.

Project overview

  • Nature: Expansion and Reconstruction
  • Location: Within Dragon Phoenix’s plant, Qinggang County, Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province
  • Total investment: USD7.66 million (RMB 55 million), of which USD0.17 million (RMB 1.2 million) is for environmental protection
  • Construction content: The project utilizes the existing sodium gluconate production line, adding ion-exchange systems, saccharification tanks, plate and frame filters, evaporators, and other auxiliary equipment to produce starch sugar (the starch sugar production line operates 350 days a year, while sodium gluconate production is halted). It also adds equipment to the existing erythritol production line for valine production. Product plan: 100,000 t/a of maltose (meeting GB/T20883-2017 standards) produced from 148,600 t/a of self-produced starch slurry 20,000 t/a of valine produced from 25,400 t/a of self-produced glucose
  • Labor: No new personnel, relying on existing staff
  • Timeline:
    • Approval of EI report: 24 Apr., 2024
    • Starting construction: May 2024
    • Completion: Early Feb. 2025
    • Starting commissioning: Late Feb. 2025
    • On-site environmental monitoring: 4-5 March, 2025, and 18-19 March, 2025

Dragon Phoenix, controlled by Zhucheng Xingmao Corn Development Co., Ltd., currently processes 1.5 million t/a of corn to produce 1.3 million t/a of starch, 20,000 t/a of erythritol, 100,000 t/a of maltose, 100,000 t/a of glucose syrup, 30,000 t/a of maltodextrin, 170,000 t/a of sprayed corn bran, 86,200 t/a of protein powder, 12,000 t/a of crude oil, and 57,000 t/a of germ.
