On 11 October, the Pingyi County Branch of Linyi Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau released the acceptance notice for the environmental impact report of Shandong Taijia Dongheng Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Taijia Dongheng)’s 100,000 t/a of functional sugar project.

 

Project overview

  • Nature: New construction
  • Location: Kangtaizhuang Village, Difang Town, Pingyi County, Linyi, Shandong Province
  • Total investment: USD84.4 million (RMB600 million), of which USD0.28 million (RMB2 million) is for environmental protection
  • Construction content: To construct four functional sugar production lines with a total capacity of 100,000 t/a, plus utilities and auxiliaries.
  • Key raw materials: 80,000 t/a of 32 % food-grade starch slurry, 40,000 t/a of 67 % sucrose syrup, 63,000 t/a of 71 % glucose solution, etc.
  • Labor quota: 30 employees
  • Working system: Three 8hr shifts per day, 300 working days per year
  • Construction period: 24 months; scheduled to start production in August 2027.

According to the environmental acceptance report publicized on 20 Jun., Phase II of 1 million t/a of starch sugars project by Guangzhou Shuangqiao Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou Shuangqiao) has been completed.

 

Project overview

  • Nature: New construction.
  • Location: No. 1, Taiyangsheng Road, Hengli Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
  • Investment: USD0.2 billion (RMB1.48 billion), of which USD17.5 million (RMB125.5 million) is for environmental protection.
  • Product plan: 100,000 t/a of beer syrup, 200,000 t/a of glucose syrup, 600,000 t/a of HFCS
  • Key raw material: 1,003,500 t/a of 86% food-grade starch.
  • Progress:
    • Started construction: Apr. 2020
    • Completion: 25 Jul., 2024.
    • Commissioning: 26 Jul., 2024 -25 Jul., 2025.
    • On-site acceptance monitoring: 13-14 May, 2025.

 

At present, the 1 million t/a of starch sugars project of Guangzhou Shuangqiao has been completed and put into production with a capacity of 200,000 t/a of beer syrup, 400,000 t/a of glucose syrup and 900,000 t/a of HFCS.

 

On 4 Jun., the environmental impact report for the technical transformation project of the starch sugar products production line by Shuangqiao (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (Shuangqiao Guangzhou), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Shuangqiao, was publicized on an environmental protection platform.

 

Project overview

  • Nature: Reconstruction, expansion & technical upgrading
  • Address: No. 1, Taiyangsheng Road, Hengli Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province
  • Total investment: USD18 million (RMB 130 million), of which USD1.4 million (RMB10 million) is for environmental protection
  • Product plan: 300,000 t/a of starch sugar 16,500 t/a of corn sugar dregs
  • Key raw materials:
    • To utilize various enzymes to convert 335,000 t/a of corn starch into different forms of starch sugars.
    • To use the by-product of starch sugar production, known as protein residue, to produce corn sugar residue.
  • Labor quota: 40 new employees.
  • Working system: Three 8hr shifts per day, 350 working days per year.
  • Construction period: 2.5 years

Fuyang Bio-tech Completed Modified Starch Expansion Project

Chengdu COFCO’s 150,000 t/a starch-based sugar expansion project

Currently, COFCO Biochemical (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. (Chengdu COFCO) is able to produce 100,000 t/a of F55 HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), 20,000 t/a of maltose and 36,000 t/a flavored syrup. I

In order to increase its market share in northwest China and satisfy high-end product market demand, Chengdu COFCO plans to construct 150,000 t/a starch-based sugar expansion project, and on 24 Sept., the local environmental protection department accepted the environmental impact report of this project.

 

Project overview:

Nature: expansion

Location: Xinjin District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Total investment: RMB250 million, of which RMB11.48 million for environmental protection

Construction plan: establish a HFCS production line Expand the special sugar workshop and add a new flavor syrup production filling line. Etc.

Product plan: 150,000 t/a HFCS, 2,000 t/a flavored syrup will be added. After completion, the product scale of the plant is 250,000 t/a HFCS, 20,000 t/a maltose, 38,000 t/a flavored syrup.

Key raw material: corn starch

Labor quta: 25 new people (current 150 people)

Construction period: 15 months
