On 13 Jan., 2026, the environmental impact assessment information for Xinjiang Super Sweet Bioengineering Co., Ltd. (Super Sweet)’s flexible production expansion & retrofit project for amino acid lines was publicized for the 2nd time.
Project overview
- Nature: Expansion & retrofit
- Location: Yining Park, Khorgos Economic Development Zone, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
- Total investment: USD4.98 million (RMB35 million)
- Construction content: Flexible upgrading of the existing line—development of new strains, additional fermenters, air system, reactors, centrifuges, crystallizers, dryers, ceramic membranes, etc.
- Product plan (newly-added): 1,000 t/a of glucosamine, 120 t/a of D-phenylalanine, 500 t/a of L-histidine, 180 t/a of folic acid, 100 t/a of rebaudioside D&M (RD/RM), 1 t/a of salidroside, 1,000 t/a of nisin
- Key raw materials: 10,000 t/a of starch, activated carbon, anhydrous Na₂CO₃, 95% ethanol, diatomaceous earth, etc.
- Labor quota: 450 employees (no additional)
- Working system: three 8hr shifts per day, 330 working days totaling 7,920 hours per year
- Construction period: Jan. 2026–Aug. 2026 (8 months).
Currently Super Sweet can produce 10,000 t/a of L-phenylalanine, 2,000 t/a of L-tryptophan, 10,000 t/a of aspartame.
