Yulin Heli Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Yulin Heli) completed “Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni cultivation & extraction project”, as per the monitoring report on inspection and acceptance publicized on 11 Oct.

Chengdu COFCO’s 150,000 t/a starch-based sugar expansion project

Currently, COFCO Biochemical (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. (Chengdu COFCO) is able to produce 100,000 t/a of F55 HFCS (high fructose corn syrup), 20,000 t/a of maltose and 36,000 t/a flavored syrup. I

In order to increase its market share in northwest China and satisfy high-end product market demand, Chengdu COFCO plans to construct 150,000 t/a starch-based sugar expansion project, and on 24 Sept., the local environmental protection department accepted the environmental impact report of this project.

 

Project overview:

Nature: expansion

Location: Xinjin District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Total investment: RMB250 million, of which RMB11.48 million for environmental protection

Construction plan: establish a HFCS production line Expand the special sugar workshop and add a new flavor syrup production filling line. Etc.

Product plan: 150,000 t/a HFCS, 2,000 t/a flavored syrup will be added. After completion, the product scale of the plant is 250,000 t/a HFCS, 20,000 t/a maltose, 38,000 t/a flavored syrup.

Key raw material: corn starch

Labor quta: 25 new people (current 150 people)

Construction period: 15 months

Huainan Runloy’s polydextrose put into commercial production

Runloy Biotechnology (Huainan) Co., Ltd.’s 100,000 t/a polydextrose project was planned to be constructed over two phases (Phase I: 30,000 t/a polydextrose; Phase II: 70,000 t/a polydextrose and 5,000 t/a dietary fiber solid drink). On 2 August, the monitoring report on the inspection and acceptance of the completed environmental protection facilities of stage one of Huainan Runloy’s 100,000 t/a polydextrose project (Phase I) was publicized.

Overview of stage one

Construction nature: New construction

Location: Maoji Social Development Comprehensive Experimental Area, Huainan City, Anhui Province

Total investment: RMB68 million, of which RMB2.84 million for environmental protection

Product plan: 15,000 t/a polydextrose is prepared from 30,000 t/a of glucose monohydrate and about 3,300 t/a sorbitol using about 333 t/a citric acid as the catalyst.

Labour quota: 40 employees

Working system: Three 8h shifts per 24h workday, totalling 7,200 working hours or 300 working days a year

Progress:

Commencement of construction: July 2023

Completion of construction: May 2024

On-site environmental monitoring: 23~24 May 2024, 14~15 June 2024

Huainan Runloy is 100% owned by Runloy Biotechnology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Besides, Huainan Runloy’s brother company, Runloy Biotechnology (Anhui) Co., Ltd., located in Fenghuangshan Economic Development, Xiangshan District, Huaibei City, is currently producing 15,000 t/a polydextrose.
