On 18 Nov., the Daqing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau published its proposed approval opinion on the environmental-impact report for Heilongjiang Eppen Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Heilongjiang Eppen)’s 450,000 t/a of amino acids project.
Project Overview
- Nature: Expansion & renovation
- Location: Deligor Industrial Park, Duerbote Mongol Autonomous County, Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province
- Total investment: RMB2,949.10 million, of which RMB 93.22 million is for environmental protection
- Construction content: Construction of new production lines for glucose, threonine, and monosodium glutamate (MSG/sodium glutamate), along with supporting facilities including fertilizer, starch processing, and glutamic acid residue lines, as well as related utilities. The project will have a production capacity of 450,000 t/a of various amino acids and by-products such as corn steep liquor, corn gluten meal, corn germ, sprayed corn bran, and glutamic acid residue.
- Product plan: 200,000 t/a of L-threonine, 250,000 t/a of MSG (sodium glutamate), 219,099 t/a of organic fertilizer, 42,928 t/a of glutamic acid residue (MSG residue), 144,900 t/a of corn steep liquor, 72,450 t/a of sprayed corn bran, 51,750 t/a of corn gluten meal, 77,625 t/a of corn germ, 55,692 t/a of threonine mother liquor
- Key raw material: about 1,000,000 t/a of corn
- Labor quota: 700 employees
- Working system: Four-shift, three-rotation schedule; 8 hours per rotation; 345 working days totaling 8,280 hours per year
- Construction period: Nov. 2025 to March 2027
Currently, Heilongjiang Eppen processes about 925,000 t/a of corn to produce 100,000 t/a of feed-grade L-threonine, 130,000 t/a of feed-grade 98.5 % lysine hydrochloride, 170,000 t/a of feed-grade 70 % L-lysine sulfate, 57,000 t/a of corn germ, 33,000 t/a of sprayed corn bran, 44,000 t/a of corn gluten meal, 52,000 t/a of corn steep liquor, and 114,000 t/a single-protein amino-acid feed.
